just my opinion. If what you have is working well leave it alone. Time shift is a good tool and allows you to revert to a prior state if needed.
I would also advise keep important document backed up on an external medium of some sort. USB/cloud what ever you choose. That way Just in case the drive in the computer were to go bad you can restore all that's important to you. Sure there are newer file systems that may provide backup and restore, but Ext 4 is well tested and works. Good luck with whatever you choose.
