After quite some time with other Linux projects, it's time give this problem some attention again. Getting a 25 year old laptop up and running I replaced the default kernel with an older one. I'm thinking of trying something similar here, to see if a kernel from the time of release of the computer would do better. From what I can find, it was released some time during the second half of 2011. What kernel would be available in the repositories that is closest to this period?
