Yes, it is the VLC from the Debian repos and yes, I've tried other blurays also.
I also had the impression that VLC simply ignores KEYDB file, but I do not know why.
I also tried an app image (latest version) and this is the output in the console:then the CPU jumps to 100% and nothing happens.
The libraries mentioned by you are already installed.
I tried with several blurays, none of them work, but all of them work on Windows, with the same KEYDB file. Funny thing, I have an old bluray player (from 2010 or so) and that one also works.
