Yes, I'm bumping an old thread with a status update :)

Finally switched from openbox to labwc as a daily driver. Got almost everything working the way it should, including some not-recommended stuff like enablng synaptic and gparted under Wayland that requires a bit of temporary ACL hacking.

There's a fresh labwc in Experimental waiting for a wlroots upgrade and I'm hoping that a minor video glitch I've got with conky will resolve - sometimes if a window is covering conky the conky won't refresh when the window covering it is closed - seen it four or five times in the past week.

Setting a screen timeout required swayidle, I used swaybg to set wallpaper and am using sfwbar as a panel. The only thing left that's making me less than happy is the lack of a decent menu solution but labwc-menu-generator gave me a menu.xml I can work with - I couldn't get jgmenu to open menus in the correct location consistently and I know the person who developed both jgmenu and labwc is working on a new menu solution. I don't install much software so a static menu works for the time being.

Today I'm gonna make a couple of menu entries for screenshooting and see if I can tweak icon size in sfwbar a little bit and then I should have about 98% of what I can do in openbox.

It's been an interesting journey but I'm pretty happy with labwc right now.
