I have 2 machines running Debian 12 "Bookworm" with XFCE. One is a Lenovo laptop, and the problem doesn't occur on this machine. The other is a HP T620 "thin client". Both have display resolution 1920x1080.
On the HP thin client, Audacious (music player) and KeePassX (password manager) windows seem to have normal size text in the title bar, but the text within their window is extremely small. In the attached screenshot, compare the Audacious window (left) to a Thunar window. Many elements are small in the Audacious window. I haven't found any settings that help.
If I log in to the HP thin client via ssh -X (laptop is client, HP is server) and type audacious at the command prompt, the Audacious window appears on the laptop screen with everything normal size. That is, Audacious is running on the HP but displaying on the laptop, and it looks as it should.
Thanks for any ideas to resolve this.
